Peg count or monitoring vector steps

We have an 8720 CM4.1. Is there a way to monitor how many times a vector step has been activated? I want to add extra prompts (1, 2, 3, etc.) inside a vector and be able to determine how many times those prompts are accessed. BCMS does not have the capability to monitor unless you have every prompt go to a vdn or a different skill. All those prompt items will go to the same skill. We also have CMS release 14. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The only way I know of is to have a unique VDN for each prompt.
