HI all! I am using a Mac... OS 10.3.9. I'm using Quark 6.5. I have imported a background file that contains a gradient and a logo with a drop shadow. The background/logo file was created using Illustrator (it's an eps file). When I export this page using the Quark export function, there's a white box around the logo and its shadow. When this page is turned into a pdf (using Acrobat which I don't have) there is no box around the logo. Any idea as to why the Quark pdf does this? Any idea on how to make it NOT do it? I'm guessing the shadow is the problem. Thanks.

Julie

Rasterizing the art in Illus. is a "quick fix", but without looking at the actual file and not being able to replicate the problem it's hard to troubleshoot.

Try saving your Ill EPS down to version 7.

Could you export the 2 elements, the gradient and the logo, separately - and then comp together with Photoshop? This would surely 'cure' the weirdness? It's probably something to do with trapping within Illustrator

Kind Regards
Duncan
