I have an application which saves db reports in PDF format. I also have a routine to view, print, email and/or fax the PDF from my application The routine was created using the method described in:
It was all working just great. However, after upgrading Adobe Acrobat Reader from version 6.X to 7.x or 8.x, the application quite working. Adobe has quit distributing files pdf.ocx and pdf.tlb with versions 7 and 8.
I tried including the ocx from version 6 and registering them using the method described in:
BUT the registration fails if version 6 is not installed.

I tried importing activex controls from version 8, but that created at lease 4 components that don't do what I need and I found them confusing and difficult to understand or work with. I've since deleted them and uninstalled Adobe Acrobat Reader 8 in an effort to figure out just what's going on.

I usually pride myself with keeping up with current technology, but lately feel I'm loosing ground. I'm using D7E under XP and need to get this working again. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!!!

Follow up: I tried import activeX with Acrobat 7. It created a single component (same as ver 6) except with AcroPDF.dll instead of PDF.OCX

To keep it simple, rather than try to figure out which version the users have installed, I've released (2) versions of my app; one for Acrobat 6 and below and one for version 7 and above.

Problem solved. Thanks anyway.
