One of our newbie staff went to an away office last week with a Nt4 server(pdc from an old domain that it isn't use anymore). He installed this new server(NT4)in this office, rename the domain with the "away domain" and reboot. After that, he tried to promote the new one as Pdc. Since this time, the users have a lot of problem to login, with the rights on share folders and so on. I'm sure it is because the Sid and the old domain name. Any suggestion instead of reinstal all the Os on the new server???

NT 4 servers cannot be removed from one domain and added to another. You must reformat the hard drive and install Windows NT Server again.

Sorry, but that's the way NT works. In Windows 2000, you can demote and move a server to a different domain, then promote it again. NT doesn't allow that.
