Hi, I have a Sound Blaster PCI128.
Part of it installs fine.
But if you look under the device manager in system properties, the category Other Devices has "PCI Multimedia Device" with a yellow exclimation point. This is keeping
my card from working. This is this way because it cant find any drivers for it. The ones on the win98 disk dont work nor do the ones for my sound card.

Please tell me how to fix this problem,

Thanks,

Jeremy

Does the CD that came with you sound card have a setup program on it? I've seen some install software that had to be setup using the setup.exe from the CD--you couldn't just point Windows to the location of the drivers.

Otherwise, try removing the problem device in Device Mgr, reboot, and when Windows detects it, make sure the sound card CDROM is in, and have it check ALL the folders on it. Windows can't always see subfolders, so you may need to click on each of the subfolders until you find it. They MUST be on there!

I would remove it, reboot, and see what happens, what os is this? have you checked the manufactures site for driver updates? FatesWebb

if you do what I suggested it is not my fault...

It is win98. I've removed it from the device manager list and rebooted. Windows tries then to setup it up but it still cant find the drivers. I have also tried to click on all the subfolders but that did not work either. I have run the setup program and have tried searching the cd for the drivers.

Hmmm. When you run the setup program, it doesn't install them? What does it do?!
Since you obviously have internet access, maybe you could try going to Soundblaster's site and downloading them, since the CD your using apparently doesn't have them...
