PC3200 WITH PC2700?

I HAVE: AMD Athlon XP 3200 2.1gz, 512 ddr pc3200, and i am wondering if another 512 pc 2100 will work with it?
i am assuming the answer is no, b/c i have tried, but i wanted a professional opinion.

Your post is a little confusing!
Your heading says PC3200 with PC2700 then you write that you are adding PC2100?
For an XP3200+ CPU which has a 400fsb, you need PC3200 (DDR400) to run syncronously with the processor.

Martin's right. If you add slower memory, all RAM installed will run at the slower speed.
