I have connected two computers, one with 2000 Pro and other with ME through CAT-5 Cable(without HUB).

The problem I'm facing is.............

I can ping the comp running ME from 2000 Pro and can copy files from 2000 to ME. But vice versa is not happening, that is, I can't ping 2000 Pro from ME.

Any of u guyz have come across this problem.

The comps use TCP/IP and NetBEUI.

1. Why are you using 2 network protocols - one is sufficient.

2. Have both machines got an IP address in the same range (seems odd ping works one way only).

3. Are the NICs in the 2 machines compatible speeds (ie, both 10, both 100 or both 10/100 mbs)? I've seen posts where mismatched speeds - but the slow could send to the fast, but not vice versa)

4. Have you shared resources on the 2000 (ie, set up your own, not the default C$ etc share), and has you set up user account on the 2000 which matches user name/password used to log on to ME?
