PC Hangs

I have this PC on my network that occasionally goes crazy. It's an IBM Netvista M42 with Windows 2000 Pro installed. After a long shutdown period (overnight) whne the user logs in after about 10 - 30 minutes the screen fills up with multi color blocks and the PC stops responding, no mouse no keyboard anything. Also this PC seems to flood my HP Procurve 4000m switch and brings that down as well. Once the PC is rebooted all is fine until the next day. ANy ideas as to what is causing this strange behavior.

First thing, even if you have an AV program is to scan with at least two of the online AV scanners from smah's FAQ: faq760-3862

It is a tough call, but it is equally possible this is an overheating issue, and/or a RAM issue.

Use one of these overnight to test RAM:
