Hi, hope someone can help...
I have xp home, it freezes up and the system event viewer shows an error with W32TIME . what is this and how do i fix this from freezing my pc?
Thanks.

This is a problem with your clock time.

Try this fix:

1) Start->Run type cmd.exe then click OK
2) type net stop w32time then press Enter key
3) type w32tm.exe /unregister then press Enter key
4) type w32tm.exe /register then press Enter key
5) type net start w32time then press Enter key

Thanks,
Ill give it a shot...

Hi,
gave it a shot, but the system still freezes up any other things to try?
Thanks

Can you supply the exact error message you are getting?

Some general things to try.

See if System Restore will get you back to a restore point before your problem with Windows.

Try Safe Mode (Do you have this problem in Safe Mode?).

Try running ChkDsk to check your drive for errors. Right click your Drive icon/ Properties/ Tools/ Error Checking.

Run the System File Checker program from the Run Box by typing.....Sfc /Scannow in it and have your XP CD handy.

If they don't work you could try repairing windows itself by running it over itself. You will lose all your windows updates but your files will be untouched.
