pc freezes but background playing.

i have a prob..when i go onto my computer and on the address bar type say 'c:\mydocuments'... i click on the address bar with the mouse and soon as i hit the keyboard.. the mouse and the keybord freezes.. anyting else in the background say music or movie still plays perfectly even though the mouse and keyboard is frozen...

i have no idea what it is.. i don't think its the ram..

anybody got any ideas i would be so grateful..

Try to reseat the video card.
Borrow a keyboard from a friend and try with it.
There are a number of diagnostics programs around, download and run them, if you're able to analyze the results.
