pc discinnects from internet after 10 mins

Hope you can help my friends windowsXP SP1 machine, keeps disconnecting from internet. 1) Virus 3 weeks ago - pop up message saying remote procedure called will shut down computer in a few minutes Could not log onto the net for more than 1 min. 2)Was told to run services.msc and change the properties to restart the service. 3)recommended by BTinternet to Downloaded a patch, but cant rember what the patch was called!!!!!!! also told to Downloaded & ran fixblast 4) Now logs off internet after about 10mins - nolonger get the connected window appear when 1st log on This is where I was asked to help: 5) tried a different connection for a different ISP - still logged off after 10mins 6) ran F-PROT with 28/8/03 defs - no virus found 7) this may not be connected but had kassa installed months ago, startup files are SFONDI~1, EROS-A~1, dont know what these 2 are. NEWDOT~1, which I know can be a problem to remove. using msconfig i tried to remove the following startup files, wetgirls, dw, pgmonitr and each time after reboot they come back again...... any suggestions how I can stop this machine from disconnecting from the internet
 
Your machine is seriously trojan and virus infected. To be honest if it were my machine I would reformat the disk and start with a clean installation.

You need to download AdAware, new definitions for AdAwre from inside the installed program, SpyBot 1.2, and Hijack This! and run all of them.


You need to do an on-line virus scan:
You need to add a firewall: Zone Alarm, Sygate, Tiny, and Kerio are all free for personal use.

You need to repair your Winsock service:
You need to then go to Windows Update and apply all currently available patches for your machine it finds.
