I have PCAnywhere on my home PC so that I can send files / control my home PC from my office. All works fine.

However, I have noticed that whenever I have been using my pc remotely, for a day or so afterwards the log on's do not time out and go back to the "select user" screen and the power management fails to switch the monitor off after a period of inactivity. All seems to right it's self after a day or so though.

Any ideas anyone?

What version of PCAnywhere are you using on both the host and remote?

Version 10.5 on both ends

I had all sorts of problems with version 10.5 in XP, even after running LiveUpdate to make sure I had all the latest revisions. Even though 10.5.1 was the first version to officially support XP, it had a ton of bugs only some of which have been fixed.

I'm not sure if you're problem is necessarily related to the fact you're running in XP, but it's possible. Have you tried to contact Symantec directly about your problem? It might be worth your time to buy the 11.0 upgrade.
