Does anyone know if it's possible to have the ability to have PC Anywhere on a XP machine and still use remote desktop? Installing PC Anywhere removes the ability to use Remote Desktop and I need the ability to use both. Or is there another program besides PC Anywhere the will give me the ability to use both? Thx.

" Installing PC Anywhere removes the ability to use Remote Desktop "

I would check this. I have never had an issue.
Make certain you logoff your RD session though.

Couple of notes here. First, why do you need both? If you simply need to access the RDT from a different version of Windows, MS has a free client for other versions at
There is also a version for Mac from MS, and there are a couple of versions for Linux/Unix from other sources.

Second note, I also am not aware of any particular problem with RDT and PCA living together.

Third note, VNC is great, and certainly less expensive than PCA, but is a better choice generally. Not a competing product, it is built on the same core. Adds some nice features.

Thanks for the feedback

When installing PCA on an XP machine there is an alert window that comes up during installation that informs you that installing this program will remove the ability to use Telnet services, Remote Desktop and Fast User Switching.

The reason why I need both is because I have computers on my network that I like to use RDT and I have equipment at customer locations that my Tech support will need PCA to get access into.

Maybe it is just my version of PCA (10). I will see if there is a newer version that doesn't have this problem.

Thx
