I'm joining a new PC to our domain: Win2K Advanced Server with AD.

Everything is going fine until during the join I get an error about the RPC server being unavailable.

When I go to AD on the server, I see the new computer in AD so the PC added but the client is still in a workgroup state.

All anti-virus/internet security/firewalls on the client are turned off (as I've seen this problem in the past with Norton Ineternet Security enabled).

DNS and RPC are running fine as far as I can tell. We have about 2 dozen PCs connecting daily and everything there is fine.

Any ideas/suggestions?

TIA

Just noticed something...when I join the domain, my network connection gets dropped momentarily during the join then I get the error.

That has to be the problem.

What is doing that? What do I do to stop that?
