Pasting into Indesign problem

When I used to paste from Illustrator into Indesign,
vector elements and text where pasted as vector and text.
When I do this on a different Indesign installation on another PC, it gets pasted as an EPS (meaning you can't edit text etc)

I dont see the exact solution in thread818-1473598

Any answers to this? I just want to copy and paste simple things. I dont want to save and place files into ID.

Check the program preferences for the way it handles clipboard data.

Thanks that solved it: Untick "Prefer PDF when pasting" in File handling panel under Preferences
