I am attempting to publish a Front Page Web to my W2K server. I can do this with no problem from my desktop pc (Win98SE)but using the same web and the same server and the same user id and passsword from my laptop, I get a prompt for login but it will not accept my password. I have even tried my administrator account. Again, this all works great from my desk top but not from laptop with same os and all.

this can be a problem with the Server not knowing where to look up the username so try Mydomain\Username or TheServerName\Username or UserName@MyDomain or UserName@Servername

Thanks for the suggestion but none worked.

In addition, I can access the shared folders from the laptop but it will not accept my user id and password for the publishing of the site.

Bear in mind that the desktop PC with the same OS and on the same LAN works fine. I have compared network settings on both machines.

Got it resolved!

Thanks to another forum here at TT: FrontPage. It seems to be a known issue related to Windows challenge PW settings. Change to Basic Authentication on the IIS and it works like a champ!

Thanks all.
