Password Recovery for Win 2000

After doing a search for password recovery I am still back at ground level where I started. Thanks for the tip, but if anyone has any other ideas of any known software please let me know. As I said the LC3 is great but it does not recover for Windows 2000 unless you have it installed on the local machine.

It is not impossible and it could come in handy where I work. We have about 1400 users and when someone has a problem that I have to go and troubleshoot sometimes the user is not there and they have changed their password from what we had originally set up and it makes it a pain to get around it. Of course we can go in as an Administrator and reset their password. I was just curious if there was a program for Win 2000 password recovery for remote computers.
You have the right tool - LC3 is as good as you can get. The problem is that to crack W2K servers with syskey - since the hashes are not stored in the SAM like NT..they're stored in Active Directory...which means LC3 needs to go on the local server..not a good idea.
PWdump3e is a tool that will safely connect to your PDC, and dump all users PW hashes into a text file which you can then import into LC3 and crack. THis is the method I use, and it is much faster and safer.

HELP!
I was just cleaning up an old laptop (1 1/2 yrs old) for my daughter for xmas and me being the bozo that I am must have changed the password at the "logon to windows" screen. The computer is utilizing windows2000 professional, I am clueless what to do to get back in. How can I get in?
