Hello,
I was able to successfully put a passcode on a conference port through a conference menu created in voicemail pro but I noticed someone could easily just dial the conference number directly and connect to it without the password. The conference menu number is 1500 and the conference meet-me code is 1300. Basically someone can just dial 1300 and skip the whole conference menu altogether to get in. Is there anyway to only allow someone to connect to a conference by connecting through the conference menu itself? Thanks in advance.

No way around it. Don't tell people about 1300 is all you really can do.

Well the reason I bring it up is because people will see the 1300 number on their phones when they connect to the conference port through the conferencing menu I created in voicemail pro so they'll be able to know what it is regardless if I tell them or not. I was just hoping their was a way to prevent that person from seeing the conference number on their phone and then just dialing that directly to dial into a conference as opposed to going through the menu.

Maybe play with the transfer action in VMPro. You can change what is displayed on the phone.

I tried changing the description and the source of transfer under the transfer action and it still shows up as "Conf1300". I tried changing the name to "CONFERENCE" but no luck.

I did a bit of a workaround once by using a user variable ("Bridge01-IPO") with the conference number in it and adding an option to a bridge menu close the conference which changed the conference number to that of the IP Office's last unique call ID ($CID) and then transferring the call from VM Pro to the IPO Conference using "*88$REG[Bridge01-IPO]" where *88 is an IPO shortcode for the meet-me conference.

If I get half an hour free over next day or two i'll tidy the module up, remove any sensitive data and upload it as an importable module.

DanACS is on to something. Try creating the user variable and use it as the destination of your transfer action.

Yeah I just tried that but it still shows up as Conf1300. I'm gonna wait and see what he comes up with if he posts his module configuration. I kinda understood what he was trying to explain but I couldn't follow all of it unfortunately.

Here's your fix [smile]

Just put a $-sign in front of the Meet me-short code numbers.
Impossible to dial from a phone, need to run by the module to get in.

All you need to make it happen, cfg, doc, wavs, mod: Block sneaky inside bastards

Contains two conf rooms. Need more, copy till you got enough.
Remember to do the same in the config as well.

Kind regards

Gunnar

You're the man Gunnaro that worked perfectly. I can't believe I didn't think of doing that. Thanks again for your help.

No problem [smile]

Don't think you'll find that trick in the manual, though.

Might be possible to dial $ with Softconsole, never tried that.

Kind regards

Gunnar
