I have a user that has a password protected screen saver in Win98....but for some reason, it doesn't ask for a password when you move the mouse or touch a key while the screen saver is on. It should prompt for a password to be typed in to access the desktop but it isn't doing that. The user says that it worked in the past and then one day it just stopped working. We have tried changing the password and that didn't help. Anyone seen this before?

When you move the mouse or whatever, does it go straight back to the desktop or just not react at all?

I reckon just delete the .scr file in the windows dir and extract a new one.... I have never heard of that one b4 :)

paulwood...yeah, it just goes straight back to the desktop without asking for a password. Neo81...I'm not sure that deleting the one screen saver would fix the problem either. We have tried using different screen savers with the same result.

Sorry that it has taken so long to reply to your posts.
