I have an xp desktop, a couple of days ago I went to use and it is asking for an admin password. I have never had a password on and I can't log in, although I can log into safe mode. I logged in to safe mode this morning and changed the password, but still can't access in reg mode. Does not accept new password. Any help would be appreciated. I don't use this computer much - also have a new laptop, but I do have a lot of old information on this computer.

Do a search for an admin password reset program (there are some linux based ones out there), or get a hold of Wininterals WinPE disk.

The real world is not about exam scores, it's about ability.

Sounds more like a damaged regular user profile. When you log in in Safe Mode, are you using the same user account as regular mode, or are you using Administrator?

I didn't check - but you're probably right. Will check the user account when I get back home. I will try to add a different user account and log back in.
Thanks
