Hola!

I was debugging an already existing DTS using the package designer. When I was checking the sql server connectivity icon, I found that the user's password was incorrect, so of course I changed it.

When I pressed OK to record the change, I answered "NO" (as I normally do to avoid a further mess) to the question of resetting the transformations.

Later on, when I came back to the server's connectivity icon, I noticed that the password's change wasn't recorded at all, instead the textbox was in blank.

FOr a moment I believed this was due to answering "NO" to the reset question, so I canceled everything and started again, this time answering "YES" to this question. The result was the same: I'm not able to change the password and leaving this change intact.

Can anyone help?

Some questions.

Are you the package owner?
Are you running SP2?
Are you connected using SQL Server authentication?

Tom

Greetings Tom...

The answer is Yes for the three questions.

I had the same problem. Here is the answer I got...

The password may not have been saved correctly. From time to time the
"Persist Security Info" property gets set to false which means the
password is not stored in the package. You can check this from within
the Advanced properties sheet of the connection.
