I work in an extremely large environment currently running 5.1. We would like to increase our password length control on all user accounts to heighten security. The issue is that any accounts with passwords less than the new setting will cause the password to expire at next login. We would like to make these settings to large numbers of accounts at one time, but we can't afford to have thousands of users reseting their passwords, locking themselves out, calling the help desk, etc. all in one day. Does anyone know if there is a way to avoid this and just have the accounts expire on their normal dates and then require the new length? Thanks!

I would say the best way to do this is in NetWare Administrator (NWAdmin), select multiple users under an OU, go to the Object menu and select Details on Multiple Users, go to the Password Restrictions tab, and set the Password length to that of your choosing. All of the selected user objects should be changed when you save changes.
