Password filter - server 2003

Hey all.

I want to enable strong passwords, but my users will jump up and down if I make them have to use special characters and caps.

I want to edit the password filter so that it forces them to use at least a combination of numbers and letters, not special characters.. maybe at a later date, one step at a time. Before I got here they only had to have 3 character passwords!

Google doesn't bring up much info, I have found a few unanswered posts.

I'm afraid it's quite a task to create your own password filter, i've seen alot of posts about this and no solutions other than writing your own.
