We recently decided to implement a more secure network, which involved changing everyone's passwords and adopting a stricter password policy. The previous IT admin did not have any group policies in place.
We have domains a, b, & c on servers a, b, & c, respectively. Domain a is the primary dc and domain b is a child domain to domain a. Servers a & b are connected thru a 45MB wireless radio connection (so they appear as a regular LAN.) Domain c is on server c that accesses server a remotely thru a vpn. Server a is the email server.
The former IT admin had users listed in domain c and domain a with 2 different usernames. These users access server a for email only.
Now when I changed the password policy, when users from domain c access email, it is asking for their password everytime. Even if they put their password in and leave outlook open, it will not automatically send/receive email. They have to periodically hit the send/receive button and re-enter their password.
Note that on domain c, I did not change the password policy. I only did this on domain a.
Any suggestions to correct this issue? My boss went the whole day without getting email (since we didn't realize that she has to continuously put in her logon credentials) and she was not happy.
