I have an intermittent problem where when my PC comes out of hibernation and I enter my password it is not recognised. None of the user passwords are recognised (this includes the admin account). This includes accounts that were logged on when it went into hibernation, or fresh logins. If I reboot, it all works fine again.

I have XP SP1 with fast user switching enabled, one normal user account, one power user and admin. I have the latest keyboard drivers loaded.

Any helpful suggestions appreciated 'cos I'm all out of ideas!%-)

To password-protect your computer during standby or hibernation
Open Power Options in Control Panel.
Click the Advanced tab, then click Prompt for password when computer resumes from sleep. The password for which you will be prompted when the computer resumes is the password for the currently logged-on user account.

Thanks for your suggestion linney, but I'm happy with the default behaviour, which is to return to the normal login screen on resuming from hibernation. My problem is that it only accepts the password 90% of the time. The other 10% of the time I have to reboot before my password is recognised.
