Passing Command Line Variables

Hi,

I'm hoping this is easy.

Say for the month of May, I want the same header every time, but I want to pass different day variables to the May document.

For instance:

http://www.mysite.php=2003may01

or

http://www.mysite.php=2003may05

How do I get the receiving file, mysite.php, to pick the right file?

This is probably one of the most basic of all questions, but I'm having a devil of a time finding the answer.
