We have an ACS R3 system that eats power supplies once in a while. I fixed it today, found that the smoke escaped from a zener diode, replaced it but I fear that its smoke will escape soon because of the temp it runs. Anyways, can someone give me lead on a parts source for a new powersupply to have in reserve?

Can you do anything to change the environment?

-- can you spread the telephone load across more cards, to reduce power consumption

-- can you cool the air in the "phone closet"? (each 10 degree cooling doubles electronic parts life)

-- can you provide better air circulation (more room above, below the unit)?

-- Is your system correctly mounted so that the cards are vertical?

-- have you checked for wiring or telephone faults that might place an undue load on the system? (Perhaps too many ringers?)

The first thing I would do is get a circuit tester and test the electric outlet.....how many volts?

Hi all,
That is a design fault with the power supply. I had to modify mine for the same fault. I can't remember exactly the resistor I changed to reduce the drive, but I doubled up on the zener diodes as well.
