I have a series problems with several applications that I believe are related with some interconnecting supporting services. I have reinstalled/repaired the applications – Windows XP Home edition, Microsoft Office XP/2003, Outlook 2003 and Microsoft Internet Explorer v6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158.
Figure 1 – Internet Explorer Info Dialog Box
Figure 2 – Outlook Information Dialog Box
It should be noted that Virus Scan software checks all e-mails and attachments; Ad Aware SE is used to check for Ad-ware and Spy-ware; and Spybot - Search & Destroy is also used.
Figure 3 – Ad-Aware SE Information Dialog Box
Figure 4 – Spybot Information Dialog Box
Now to the big problems: When an URL is in an e-mail or when at an internet web site and link is “clicked-on,” sometimes a new Internet Explorer window opens, but the address dialog box will not be populated by the URL address, causing the hour-glass to appear, and continue until the new internet explorer window is closed. If the properties of the link are displayed and URL address is copied, and then pasted into the address dialog box of the recently opened, the browser window is populated with the correct internet web page source. The problem is the “go to” link is not pasted in the address box. But, this is an intermittent problem, and it occurs at in both Outlook 2003 and I.E. 6.0. Why? Where is the problem? I suspect that the problem is related to “active-X” and “permissions, enable or disabled” features of active-X.
I have used several “Outlook” signatures regularly throughout the business day. By right clicking the mouse while “pointing” to the Outlook signature in the draft e-mail dialog box, Outlook allows one to click on different pre-established e-mail signature “blocks.” But, this just stopped working. Why? Active-X?
I have set Outlook to use Word as my e-mail editor. Particularly when starting a new e mail, features of Word disappear or change. Normally, the highlighting button “pulls” from a 5 by 8 matrix of different colors, however, at this time the button “pulls” from a 3 by 5 matrix. Why? How to I change it back?
Similar problems occur with the thesaurus, the ruler, the tab function, the format paragraph function, and so on.
The above error message appears when the “New” button for a new e-mail is clicked on. After “OK” is clicked on, Word appears. I have done this several times.

I just noticed that Spybot – Search and Destroy has log entries for Office 9 and Office 11. Why?
I keep repairing with Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003. What Office version is this, 9 or 11?
Figure 7 – Internet Explorer Info Dialog Box
At this time, 02-13-05 5:31 AM, I am running Internet Explorer and have been for some time – many months if not many years. Why is Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 Error Log -- VER_MAJOR_PRODUCTVER.VER_MINOR_PRODUCTVER.VER_PRODUCTBUILD.VER_PRODUCTBUILD_QFE
CurrentTime: 2/12/2005 9:10 PM active with many entries?
I think that Office 11 is Office 2003.
How do I identify different Office version and their components? What is the latest version of Office?

This error message regularly appears. When this appears, the square icon (in the system tray) with the letter M in white turns from a red background to a grey background.

This error message appeared when a URL link an e-mail message was “clicked-on,” the I.E. 6.0 browser window opened, and it appeared that the link was working (things were happening), then the browser dialog window clasped, and this error message.

This error message appeared after checking e-mail accounts and sending test messages. All e-mail accounts sent test messages that were received.
I use a lot of graphics in my e-mails and Word documents. Today, when I opened this document the graphics did not display, but where in the document. Only when I right clicked on the area where the graphic should be visible did the graphic appear. Until I went through the entire document and did the “right click magic” did the graphic image appear, one at a time, one per click, with the cursor over the missing graphics.
After the uninstall and the reinstall of Office Professional 2003, the information dialog box has changed:

The product ID has changed, but that does not make sense. Same CD, same product; when I checked for updates, only a few were reported, all were installed.
Figure 13 – Outlook” Information Dialog Box
When I left click with the cursor over the graphics the graphic handles do not appear for resizing the graphics; if I double right click, the “Format Picture dialog box appears. I can go to the Size tab to change the graphics size, but I can not “drag” a change by moving a graphic’s handle (because the handle are not there).
I just tried to change the graphics size by clicking on the graphics, moving the cursor to a corner of the graphics, click and hold, as I move the cursor – the graphic is changing in size. The handles were not present.
