Parts for 8250 Dell Dimension

I recently purchase a Dell 8250 dimension and I want to install a Sony CDRW which I already had. This system uses 'GREEN bracket Rails' which must be purchased from DELL. Has anyone found another source? It looks like Dell wants to corner the market and all parts must be purchased from them.

That is one of the problems with purchasing Dells. They like to keep things to themselves.

Chances are (although I'm not sure) that they would be the same as any other rails. You can probably find them at your local computer store for a few dollars. I would buy a set and see if they work. If not you're only out $2 or $3 bucks.

You are correct, but this time it works in my favor. When I open the case I did not look very well under the hood cover. Attached to the cover are 2 sets of spare bracket rails. So DELL is ok for now.
