Partner Mail VS R4.1

Messages left in all extension voice mail boxes are garbled. I performed a reset, cleared garbled messages, three weeks later, same issue .......... VS R4.1 hard drive?

what happens when you call in from a land line and leave a message?

I'd suspect the hard drive, especially if it has a lot of age.

I replaced the VM module with another VS R4.1 same trouble.

Could it be one to the extension numbers that feed the VM module from the processor?

I would be more inclined to think it is the 5-slot carrier versus the processor if you have tried 2 separate voicemails with the same result. Maybe even try swapping the slot if you can.

Alot of unnecessary dick-twisting, especially after you say you have already replaced the voicemail with the same outcome. Apparently, the Cellphone calls didn't warrant a response. There are other contributers to gargled messages that are not hardware related. I will eat my testset if it is the slot - goodluck

I would agree if it was sporadic it could be cell phones, but per the first post it is all messages left start being garbled. If it is not the slot, I would put money on it being 2 bad pmvs's since those are 15-20 years old at this point and those did have issues with garbled messages back in the day. A soft reset would cure the issue for a time, but the issue always came back.

My suggestion would be to upgrade to the Avaya Partner Messaging (R7), change the ports assigned to Hunt Group #7 and retire the Partner Mail VS voicemail.
