Partition is not recognised for some login!!!?

Hi all,
I am facing a problem with the partitions of a Hard disk. The problem is that when I login on an NTstand-alone Server; which is on an NT network; with a user (who is a member of the local administrators' group); and browse the contents of the HDD, I am given full access to the whole hard disk( i.e : I am allowed to create shares, i can add/remove data, etc.)

When I login to the same machine as the local administrator, the 2nd partition(D is shown to be "unknown"!! I tried to check its status in the Disk Administrator too, which gives the same "Unknown Partition" for that!! This is strange as I can access the network shares of that partition properly!!

Can anyone help?

What File systems are on the Hard Disk of the Server? Particullarly the Primary Partition, NTFS? Give me all available information so I can see what may be causing this for you . Also please tell me if when you do see the partition, are you logged in to the server locally or across the network.... if it's across the network, what type of workstation is it? 9x or NT, and what file system is on the workstation if that is the case.

Hi,
The primary partition of the server is FAT and the secondary is NTFS. The problem that i am facing, occurs only if I am loged in as a local administrator!! Other than that login, if I login as say "ash" who is the member of Domain Admins and local Admin's groups, there are no problems at all!! One more thing, I am locally logging on the server.
Secondly, the problem is automatically resolved, that is I am now able ot correctly view the second partition as well, with any logins. I have not been able to understand the readon for the same. Also, there were no installations or no changes to the server made - which might solve the problem!! I found the drive accessible the next day I checked its status...don't know how?!!
