Is there a way to get IE(6) to make a background say 50% transparent or something? And is it possible to do this with an iframe and the background behind it? This has baffled me for years :)

Ahhh, cool, ta for that :) Unfortunately it didn't look as good as I'd thought it would which sucks a lot :'(

Most transparency is done beforehand with a graphics editor and careful placement within div elements. Here's an implementation example of how that has been done. It's a very simple web site that uses a few different images to simulate a fade-out frame.

Cool, I'll have to try that when I'm not bogged down with other stuff far less interesting :'(
