Using v5.1.8 Fat Client
SQL Server
permissions on universes are fine and all timeout / row returns limits have been checked

This issue seemed to be fixed in v5.1.6 by entering

HardRefresh = 1

into the ODBC.SBO file
******************************************************

WE are seeing intermittent issues where a query will return only the 1st 65535 rows of data. This is particularly problematic as when it does this, the "Partial Results" indicator is NOT shown. The only way to tell is to look at the # Rows field in the "Query Definition" tab which will always show 65536 if this has occured.

The issue is sporadic and is not limited to either 1 report or 1 type of report.

If anyone has seen this issue before and resolved it please let me know as this is (obviously) causing a lot of issues at the moment.

Thanks

Geoff,

Exactly the same problem occurs with version 6.1a, which gives you some idea about the lack of control with regard to bugs BO is having. In version 6.1.3 the problem is fixed again.

The HardRefresh = 1 solution is the way to go on this one. It worked very well with my 6.1a clients..

Thanks for the reply Ties.

Unfortunately, the HardRefresh = 1 line seems to work only for v5.1.6 - even with that line, v5.1.8 still has this issue

Thanks for the info on v6.1.3 though

This may be the killer blow for us using BOBJ :-(

Don't see how they can expect people to use an app that may or may not return the results you were asking for....

Ai, Upgrading to version 6.1.3 should be a breeze. Seems to be quite a decent version that has solved many issues I had with 6.1a

We shall see what our account manager says about upgrading

Thanks again for the info
