Part Numbers and Page Numbers to Database

We create catalogs with thousands of part numbers on hundreds of pages. A part number to page numbers index is required for every catalog. This has been tediously created by "hand" to-date. My problem is twofold. First, I have a huge legacy collection of catalogs/pages (all Quark Xpress) that I would like to have an Xtension for that would search out and compile all part numbers appearing on specific pages and write that to some sort of database. Second, I need to find an Xtension that will allow my operators to "tag" all future part numbers so that p/n attributes (including what page they can be found on) will be written to a database. This database would then help us deliver up PDF versions of our catalog pages via the web. Anybody aware of any off-the-shelf solutions?
