I have an option 61c running release 25.30 I am trying to install a new PRI with the remote switch being a Lucent 5ESS I think that's right. problem is I cannot get the D-channel established I think it might be the dip switches is there a default setting for the switches on the card itself? someplace or a part of the manual I can refer to any info on this is appreciated thanks. oh part # NT5D12AG

the dip switches are for b8zs/esf or ami/sf.. not usually a switch setting if you have the pri up and the d does not est. have you tried bring it up to a loop. it should come up the the d rls, wronge mode.. but if layer one is right. your t will green up, est drop and go yellow.. until you get that far it's usually software

The D comes up but it stays at auto establish, and the channels go into make busy. I tested the MSDL card on another loop and it does work. Consider.. this is an attempt to add to an existing loop. Thanks

existing loop ? your adding to a existing route? shouldn't make a diff.. the t comes up, stays green the d stays up, the card is good.. two things i would check.. dis msdl x all, enl msdl x fdl..ld 96.. that puts your changes on the msdl (or tmdi) retest and bring up one channel ench x x (ld 60) .. ld 96 stat serv enl serv x, retest..

What type of MSDL card? Is it the daughter board or a standard 4 port card. There are DIP switches for the daughter board, to say it is a daughter board and the MSDL device number. Refer to NTP 553-3001-211, Circuit Card Description and Installation, for the correct settings.

Is the D-channel set up as primary or back-up. Because if you and the carrier are opposite then that's the way it will act.

i am thinking that if the device number was wronge, the switch would ini, or the d would never come up
