parameter gets "extra" verbage in CE

When I run my report in Crystal, the one prompt just has text which asks the user which year they want plus a dropdown box with 4 digit years.

When I run the same report in Crystal Enterprise there is extra verbage with the prompt which almost seems like a 'rule' governing the selection is being explained - SEE BELOW...

"the parameter value must be between 4.00 and 4.00 characters long".

Does anyone know what is happening here? Where are these extra words coming from? Why doesn't it happen in Crystal Reports?

Perhaps you have the Range Limited Field set to 4 in the report.

There is also prompting text from within the report, select set default values within the parameter.
