I am using CR 11. I have a parameter set as a number to ask the user for the year of the report (ie. 2005, 2006 etc). I pass this parameter as a number to a few on demand sub reports and all works like a charm. The problem? The users don't like the format of the parameter value (which appears as "2,005.00" instead of "2005"). This appears because they wanted a default value of 2005.

Is there anyway (edit mask for numbers??) to format the default value to appear as "####" instead of "#,###.00 ?

Thanks and best regards,
-Lloyd

Hi,Where are the parameter values originating..If in the report (as the Default parameter list) then place the 2005 as the description for 2,005.00 and show ONLY the description.

And if you are displaying the parameter value in the report, use a formula:

totext({?date},0,"")

In addition to the above, you can set the default numeric format throughout Crystal by selecting File->Options->Fields->Number->Number and select -1123 as the default.

I tend to do this at every contract as the majority of my numerics are whole numbers and don't require financial symbols.
