I have a MS Word merge letter, linked to an Access parameter query which promps for a date. The first time through, everything works fine. But if you attempt to run the merge again, the prompt generated by the parameter query is covered up by the Word screen. (This is true even if you close everything down and start over.) You can still answer the parameter by hitting alt tab, but I'd prefer to spare my users this extra step. Any suggestions?

You could create a table with one date field that will work as the parameter for your query; a query to build a list of all dates available in your master table; a form with a combo box with the new table field as its control source and the new query as its row source; finally, an Autoexec macro to open the new form.

With that setup you can instruct your users to open the database to verify or change the date when needed; close the database and use the merged Word Document; no prompt will be required.
