Palm Zire 72 on local network?

What do I need to connect my Palm Zire 72 with a cable to my local network? Can this be done? Do I need extra software? I want to use it as if it was another pc on my network (WinMe on the desktops) without a physical connection to one of the desktops.

Any ideas?
