how can i do for my MS Paint application in windows 2000 professional allows me to save images with JPG format.

it was working before, but now it is not working anymore.

i can save files as jpg now. but i cant open files with jpg format.

what can the problem be ?

If you look in Control Panel>Folder Options>File Types, do you see JPG there? If so, which program is set to open this file type? If you don't see JPG under File Types, you can add it there (click "New") and set MS Paint to open it.

i did that, but whe paint is trying to open it, it says that the format is not valid.

Do you have the filter files jpegim32.flt and gifimp32.flt on your computer? After doing a search on my computer I found I have a copy in each of 3 directories. Do a search for the folder grphflt on your hard drive. Make sure both these files are in every folder you find. If for some reason you don't have the files, you can download them here...

yes i do have the filter files on my computer, i even run the merge files for the registry
