paging

trying to fix a paging problem, i have a NEC SV8100 switch and a valcom 2003AHF. Here is the deal i have a soft key programmed on the phone for paging when i push it and hit zone 1 which is the only zone i get a fast busy tone within 3 seconds. The sv8100 is set at 1200 which is efficient time. What am i missing and where do i need to go?

A good place to begin would be to connect your buttset to the paging output of the phone system and see if you can hear an announcement when someone presses the soft key and pages. Make sure you're buttset is in the monitor position, not offhook.
If it doesn't work, try dialing the page code instead of pressing the paging soft key.

Another good place to start would be to connect your buttset to the tip and ring input of the v-2003, go offhook, speak into your buttset and see if your voice can be heard over the loudspeakers. Make sure the v-2003 battery feed switch is on when testing this way.

The v-2003 will accommodate either a trunk port or a page port from the phone system. A page relay from the phone system must be connected to the v-2003 when using a page port.

thanks for the help, I had to change the timer class for trunks because we were using trunk 1 for paging, also changed the timer class option 5 from the default of 5 seconds i made it 120 just to make sure. I do appreciate getting back to me so soon because i was stumped.
