I've been following the paging discussiuon in thread 798-862078, as I am trying to get paging working.
When I dail my acod 8814 I get connected to my paging route, and hear faint back ground noise.

What is the next step?

Should I be able to speak into the phone and it would be heard on all desk sets? I don't know what paging should do, and my customer is requesting it through her boss and she doesn't know either. Only that it used to work 9 years ago.

next step is to start talking (assuming you already hooked the trunk port to your paging system)

And where or how is it heard?
Is it heard by my 2616 speaker phones what about my 2008 sets?

thanks for the quick replies

That is for external paging.

1. You build a paging route
2. you build a paging trunk
3. You connect you paging trunk to a paging amplifier
4. Connect you amplifier to external paging speakers.
5. Dial your ACOD
6. Start talking and hear voice over speakers.

You are not going to page over the phones themselves.

You can not PAGE over the phone in the Option Switches, PAGING though the phone is a KEY System feture.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.
