Paging through softphone

Has anyone tried paging through a softphone such as IX Workplace or Communicator? We have a odd request from a customer and tried paging via shortcode through a softphone but it doesn't seem to be working.

Odd request but I've checked it here and it seems to work with IX Workplace Windows with short feature 'dial paging'.

Nevermind, got it to work. Think they were dialing the wrong code last time.
