NT dynamically sets page file size, increasing or decreasing it as required by the system. If you want a small performance boost you can set it to a static size by right-clicking My Computer and selecting Properties>Performance>Virtual Memory. Set the minimum and maximum size the same (1.5 X System RAM is a good starting point) and then reboot. If your machine has more than one physical hard drive moving the page file to the drive other than the one holding the system files will also boost performance a tad, but remember, if you completely remove the page file from the system drive you will lose the ability to create a crashdump file in the event of a BSOD.
