Hy

We've setup a few systems with Paging on an analog port (set as paging). When we connect an amplifier system (different kind of amplifier) for paging in speakers, there is always a little noise coming out from the speaker. I read some posts about this issue and some of them mentionned the need of adding a UPAM (witch I guess it's a kind of noise reducer) but all the posts where a few years ago. So I was wandering if, today, they were a configuration in the IPO instead of adding a module to make it work properly?

Thanks

P.S. Systems are IPO 500 v2 r7

We ALWAYS use an isolation transformer such as Bogen WMT1A between IPO and any external paging equipment. If you pull the cross-connect to IPO, does the speaker noise go away?

Thanks Mike,

Yes it still does the noise when we unplug thé crossconnect cable. Even when we put our testsets directly in the paging port, we heard the noise!

So, if you disconnect the IPO from amplifier and you still hear the noise from the speakers (is that what you are saying?) - then the trouble is in the amplifier/speaker setup.
