Page numbers in the footer or header not updating properly 1

Hi All

Has anyone any idea why if I insert the code Page {Page}of {NumPages} (eg Page 1 of 13), in the header or footer when it displays on screen it it reads OK, but when I print it out it prints Page 1 of 1?

The interesting thing is that if I copy the code to the main part of the document it displays on screen and print correctly.

I am using Word 2002.

Thanks 1726 for this. This worked.
If I only want to print a page or 2 the numbering still comes out wrong even if I print in reverse order. If I print pages 1-4 in reverse order I don't get the total number of pages but get 1 of 4 etc.

Any ideas?

Not sure what box you are talking about, but the footer size is correct.

Do you have Section breaks?

If so, check the page numbering after the breaks and see if any of them have start at Page 1 again.

There are section breaks but all are set to 'Same as Previous' and the none are set to restart numbering.

With reference to my first reply

If printing selected pages, always include the last page in the print range.

This has been a problem with word over many versions - especially if using the Section Page Numbers field
