I've been all over the help text and can't figure this out. I'm running Word 2000. I know how to begin page numbering on the second page (INSERT / PAGE NUMBERS / then unchecking SHOW NUMBERS ON FIRST PAGE, but how do I begin page numbering on, say, physical page 2 or 3, etc. I think the answer has something to do with sections.

Thanks.

If you go Insert, Break, Section Break and then (Next Page orContinuous) then apply page numbering from that point on, you can define what page you need to start at. I take it you already know how to insert page numbers.

I've tried different combinations without success. Placing cursor on the page I want to being paging on, hitting next page one time, coninuous the next; then inserting page numbers with continue from next section selected or not selected. I'll still get page numbering starting at the first page.

The closest I've come is having sectiion one page numbes beginning with 1 and then my new section two beginning with one.

In short, do I put the section break on the page where I was to sart paginatiing. If so, what do I do next to have 'page 1' show up on that page.

Thanks.
