I am torn between two choices regarding my placement of my Pagefile.

I have my OS (WinXPpro) on a raid 0 setup that has 3 partitions (C-Os,E-Data,F-Misc) I have an additional Ide drive that I use to primarily backup my OS partition and Data partitions. I have a 1GB partition on the ide non raid drive which I have been using exclusively for my pagefile constant min/max size. I have 512 RDRam and have set DisablePagingExecutive to 1.

Since the Raid 0 is considerably faster than the nonraid drive am I better off moving the page file to the raid setup even if the OS is located there.
Appreciate any input

Tough question =)

Page files, because they are accessed more often, do better when they're on their own drive chain and drive. Having other things being accessed on the pagefile drive just means more wait for pagefile activities. The ideal setup for a pagefile is that it have its own bandwidth on the IDE chain, and that it be on the partition closest to the physical centre of your HD (which means less distance for read heads to travel, and slightly faster access time). However, that being said, whether you move it also depends on how much slower your separate IDE drive is than your RAID setup. Do you have any specs on your HD hardware?

All that aside, though, with 512mb to play with, you're not likely to be accessing your pagefile often, at least with standard activities. Unless you do, say, video editing, or complex photo layout or desktop publishing, I can't imagine you seeing any significant speed difference between the two options.
