After installing the Microsoft Cert in the Trusted Root Certificate..I'm attempting to use OWA and when I try to go to and the website displays page cannot be displayed. Anybody have any suggestions/ideas or examples? I know OWA works because I logged in when SSL was not present. I even created a asp to force it to use SSL.

If your link is accurate, then you need to add:

/exchange

If /exchange was implied then to help you further I need to know:

Point of access: From outside the network? or from the LAN?
Can you access SSL OWA on the server?

If from outside the network, was the firewall re-configured to allow SSL access? SSL uses a different port if I remember correctly.

If from inside the network try the url like this:
Where X is the IP address of the server. If this works, then the problem is more than likely with the DNS on the server.

Yea, exchange was applied to the end. I'm attempting access this from outside the network. But I can't even access OWA from inside the network either. Any ideas?

If you can't access it from the Exchange server, go into Admin Tools/Services and restart World Wide Web Publishing Service.

If you still can't get to it, can you get to the default web site of the server from within your network? Or even OWA without SSL?

Try this link for some more ideas:

Without SSL yes, with it no...Is there a possible DNS issue..

Same problem here. Without SSL I get "The page must be viewed over a secure channel". I already try restarting all the Exchange and IIS services but it didn't help. I can restart the server and it would start working again but I would like to figure out what the problem is.

Hi vglee,

check out this article:

Not sure what your setup is so here's how I got mine going:

I have a front end webserver which hosts our domain. I created a virtual directory on the webserver ( and re-directed it to the exchange servers URL ( I then set the following properties on the virtual directory:

Set the following Authentication methods:
Disable anonymous access
Disable Integrated Windows Authentication
Enable Basic Authentication
Click Edit and set domain to DOMAINNAME

And you need to import a certificate from your Certification Autority Server.

Hope this helps.
