We are having a problem with our website. As you are browsing, searching etc the website will suddenly seem to crash 'Page cannot be displayed' will appear. I've checked the webserver when this happens and IIS appears ok and the website is started. There are no messages in the event viewer on the machine. The people that administer our router assure me it is working correctly but that they can see alot of collisions on the line between our router and that of our ISP and as a result packets are being dropped. We have had the line tested (twice)and the company has reported no faults. We have failed over to our backup firewall to no effect - and no changes have been made to the firewall. We have used the website locally and there are no errors which makes us think it is not the wesite itself. It is Win server 2000, lucent firewall, cisco router and IIS5. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

We changed the firewall settings and put in the ip address instead of the name of the website and the crashes have stopped. But we have no idea why it happened in the first place. The website has been operating perfectly fine for months with the website name and not the IP address and no other changes have been made to the firewall to knock it out! Has anyone else come across this?
